Autumn is big game hunting time in western South Dakota. And the hunting opportunities are distinctly divided between prairie/range-land habitat and the mountainous Black Hills. The Black Hills also has a reputation for high quality wild turkey hunts, antelope, whitetail deer, mule deer, prairie dogs. Fishing season never closes in South Dakota–the pursuit of trout in the streams and lakes of the Black Hills is a year-round sport. You can catch walleye, catfish and bass at Orman Dam, while spin casting and fly-fishing in local rivers such as the Red Water, you’re bound to catch Brown Trout.
